Join Alison from The Travel Desk on this exclusive small group tour of the stunning country of Portugal. Seriously though, Portugal is rich in culture, architecture, UNESCO heritage sites, history and religious pilgrimages, meaning this tiny country is bursting with things to see and do! A magical 10-day tour of Europe's friendliest Country; Starting from the colourful Porto, the country’s second city and a UNESCO site, our journey follows the verdant valleys and rolling hills of the Douro wine region, before heading to the more undiscovered and rural regions of Centro and Alentejo. Here we visit some remote villages and wonderful towns full of culture and history, including Coimbra, Viseu and Evora, before reaching vibrant Lisbon, Europe's second-oldest capital. 
 
DAY 1: 06 OCT 2017 – Arrive to Porto and transfer to Hotel.
DAY 2: 07 OCT 2017 – Guided walking tour of Porto and optional River Douro cruise
DAY 3: 08 OCT 2017 – Visit the Douro Valley and the town of Pinhão, also a visit to a typical winery of the region for tastings of Portuguese wines
DAY 4: 09 OCT 2017 – visit the town of Viseu and its historic city centre, we then head to Coimbra
DAY 5: 10 OCT 2017 – Visit to the historical centre of Coimbra, known as the "city of students", We include a guided visit at the University of Coimbra founded in 1290. We then travel to the Schist Village mountain area for a real hands-on experience with the local inhabitants
DAY 6: 11 OCT 2017 – We visit the Alentejo and the city of
Évora, a World UNESCO Heritage sight.
DAY 7: 12 OCT 2017 – Transfer to the small town of Nossa
Senhora de Guadalupe where we visit to the Almendres Cromelech and walk leisurely through the Alentejo country- side (5km total to and from)
DAY 8: 13 OCT 2017 – Head south to Lisbon where we enjoy a guided tour of the romantic capital of Portugal.
DAY 9: 14 OCT 2017 – Today we visit Sintra another UNESCO World Heritage Site where we have a guided walk of this beautiful location. Included is a guided visit to the National Pena Pal- ace. In the evening we have arranged a farewell dinner and it’s a traditional Portugal meal accompanied by the Fado folk musicians of the region.
DAY 10: 15 OCT 2017 – Transfer to Airport for flights home.
